There is no better place to pick a pumpkin than at the Chesterfield Berry Farm. Every year they expand the number of kid friendly activities they have during pumpkin season. You can also pick your own strawberries during the summer. It’s best to get the directions from their website.

Great Wolf Lodge Legendary Santa
Legendary Santa opens to the public on the day after Thanksgiving at 9:00 am. Santa’s last day will be Saturday December 24. Please see website for specific hours. This is a FREE event although there is a fee for photos or if you wish to visit the museum itself. Letterboxing
Letterboxing is an outdoor treasure hunt. You follow clues found on the website in order to find a hidden box. You then stamp your own notebook with the rubber stamp that's found in the hidden box. There are letterboxes hidden around the world. In the Richmond area, boxes have been hidden in Rockwood Park, Deep Run Park, Forest Hill Park, Maymont and many other places. The kids really love finding the hidden boxes.

FREE but donations are welcome Tour a historic mansion, wander through beautiful gardens, visit the petting zoo or have a picnic. Maymont offers many special programs and day camps for children throughout the year. Maymont is located in Richmond and has three different entrances. They are as follows: Nature and Visitor Center: Best accessed by parking at 2201 Shields Lake Drive in Byrd Park. Easiest access to the gardens and manor home is at 1700 Hampton Street. The best parking for quick access to the children’s farm is the Spottswood Entrance at the corner of Spottswood Road and Shirley Lane. 804-358-7166

The three hour Fall Rambler tour includes a civil war reenactment. The 45 minute Santa Claus train ride guarantees your child some one on one with Santa and Mrs. Claus. There is also a spring excursion. BOOK EARLY! They also have a museum downtown. The club meets at the Science Museum of Virginia. The train excursions are on the Buckingham Branch Rail Line in Buckingham County. The train departs from Dillwyn. 804-231-4324
National Railway Pocahontas State Park
